Merle
Merle Selgis was born in 03.06.1974 in Tartu,Estonia.Tartu is famously known by its University.Estonia appears to be in Northern-Europe and was a part of Russia.Now Estonia is separated and independent country.Many Estonian artists have started their studies from the town which is the second largest town in Estonia.
Merle's art studies begun,when she was just 7 years old.She went to Tartu Children's Art School and spent her 9 years studying what she was passionate about.Merle took apart of many art competitons and was successful in her age groups.She won majority of them.After a grown-up woman,she still wanted to continue her art studies and decided to go to Tartu College of Art.
She finished Leather Art with A-Levels and her diploma work was marked with excellent A-Level as well.After successful school years she was designer for art factory "ARS",painted porcelain for Estonian artist Navitrolla and was Art Gallery "Tuvikese" manager.In 1995 was born Merle's daughter Merilin and she become housewife for a few years.
In year 1998 Merle went to USA,Florida.She worked and travelled between Estonia and USA.Treasured the world and new experiences.Her daughter also came with her.In 2005 was her first official and public exhibition in Visual Art Center of Northwest Florida.She become as a member of Floridan Artist.Her paintings are in many personal collections all over the world(USA,UK,Israel,Russia,Estonia).After exhibition she travelled to United Kingdom were she lives right now in Manchester.Merle's style is modern abstraction.The most important for her is brushstokes and feeling of the moment.She hides to every picture warmness and message with love,so in every persons home can be a bit of her...
