Navigate the site using the links in the Menu panel on the left hand side of the main window.
Info will provide some technical data about the site, the software and the software settings required to use it. This link is only available from the Home page.
Artists are listed in alphabetical order with an edited version of the biography. To read the full biography click on more. Click on the Artist Name to view his/her currently listed works which may include recently sold items.
This will navigate you to the Current Artworks page for this artist. Click on the Title to view full details including a photo. Click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized version. Click on the Add To Basket button if you wish to purchase the item, in which case your shopping basket will be displayed. At this stage you may continue shopping by returning to the Artworks window. If you wish to complete the purchase click on the Purchase button. Delivery details will be requested and when complete your shopping basket will be again displayed, this time showing the PayPal® Buy Now button. At this stage you will be sent to the PayPal® site where you can pay for your goods via secure server. When the transaction is complete you will be returned to Originals Online where your invoice will be displayed. Please print it for your records and note the PIN number should you wish to track your order at a later date. Please do not close the browser at any time during the transaction or crucial details may be lost.
Artworks will allow a search using various criteria to select and optionally sort the currently available artworks on the site. Select from the first dropdown list a Category (e.g. Painting, Sculpture, etc). Upon selection the second dropdown list will be populated with available Styles for the chosen Category. Select on from the list as desired. Sort option may be selected between: By Artist or By Price. When all selections have been made click the Search button.
This will produce a result based on your search criteria. If there is more than one page of items found the navigation buttons will be activated, in which case click on them to move forward and back through the result. Within the result, clicking on the Artwork Title will display its full details in the Selected Artwork page.
On the Selected Artworks page, click on the thumbnail to view the full-sized version. Click on the Add To Basket button if you wish to purchase the item, in which case your shopping basket will be displayed. At this stage you may continue shopping by returning to the Artworks window. Your name, delivery address and phone number will be displayed to the artist who will dispatch the items at the earliest opportunity. Please ensure that your correct email address is entered as this will be used to notify you of item dispatch. Your email address will remain confidential at all times.
Exhibitions will list, in date order (and alphabetical order within that) all/any current exhibitions by our listed artists, showing the name of the exhibition, its location, start and end dates. Click on the exhibition name to view full details including the location, cost and the artist's name. Click on the latter to view the artist's biography.
Commissions will allow a customer to submit a new custom artwork or track the status of, update or pay for an already submitted item. To create a new one simply ensure that New Request is selected and click on OK, then you'll be directed to the next screen (see next paragraph). Otherwise, select Existing Request, in which case two entry fields will become available: Email Address and Reference Number. Simply enter the email address used, plus the reference number generated at the time of placing the original request.
New Commission page allows entry of customer contact details, delivery address, artist name, description and dimensions of the custom artwork required plus the possibility to upload a digital image, which could be a photograph, sketch or other graphic item on which the artist should base the new work. All of the fields, except the image, are mandatory. Please ensure that the terms are read and understood before proceeding.
Submitted Commission page shows the basic details of the custom artwork request and the current status. At every change in status by the artist an email will be sent to the address supplied. The statuses are as follows:
During the normal course of events the status will change from 1 through 8 with artist or customer action required at each stage. Firstly the customer submits a request, the artist replies with estimate of price and delivery, the customer may accept or reject. In the case of acceptance the artist is informed and will request the deposit when ready to begin work. Once the work has been completed the artist will request the balance and will dispatch the item when this has been received. Should your email address change during the life of the order, please update it via this page to ensure that messages do not go astray.
Checkout will show the items currently in your shopping basket and the total price for these. Click the red X to remove an item. There is also a Remove All button should you wish to empty the basket completely. If you wish to expedite the purchase click on the Purchase button. Delivery details will be requested and when complete your shopping basket will be again displayed, this time showing the PayPal® Buy Now button. Please note the items are now in reserved status and will remain so for 5 minutes. Click the Abandon button if, for any reason, you do not wish to complete the purchase at this stage (which will also release the items from reserved status). If you do wish to complete the purchase click on the Buy Now button and you will be sent to the PayPal® site where you can pay for your goods via secure server. When the transaction is complete you will be returned to Originals Online where your invoice will be displayed. Please print it for your records and note the PIN number should you wish to track your order at a later date. Please do not close the browser at any time during the transaction or crucial details may be lost.
Tracking will allow inquiry on your order status. Simply enter the order reference as shown on your invoice as well as the PIN number. Please note that each item on your invoice will have a different reference as each may potentially originate from a different artist. The date of order and dispatch will be shown as well as the closed date if the order cycle has been completed.
Contact will allow you to send us a mail should you have any comment about the site, functionality you'd like to see or if you wish to report a problem with an order. In the case of the latter please check order-status beforehand (see Tracking). Always quote as much detail as possible and don't forget to include your correct email address.
Logon is for artists only, giving them access to add, update details as well as check outstanding orders, view statistics and financial information. Access is via a valid email address and an Originals Online password. New artists must click on the Register link where they will be required to enter some personal details after which a random-generated password will be sent to the entered email address. If desired, the password can be subsequently changed to something more easily memorable . Should you ever forget your password simply click on the Forgot Password link, enter the email address you used, hit the Submit button and the current password will be sent there via email.
Basic membership for Artists is FREE and allows up to three artworks to be put up for sale at any one time. These can be changed or withdrawn at will with no obligation. Commission is charged only on items sold and at the valid rate at the time of the sale.
